  Britain in the future - this was written in the early 80s and from passing
references, it is probably around the year 2000. A right wing coup has brought a military government to power, along
with it the feared "Public Order Police" the "POP"or "Poppies" as a fearful population call them.
  
  An
American businessman comes to London to seek a contract, to find that the man he is to negotiate with is the father of
his former lover. He soon discovers that the promised contract was a ruse by his friend at the American Embassy and he
is unwillingly drawn into a game of political intrigue, which threatens his life, and in which nobody is telling him the
truth.
